Hexagon’s new development at Glynde Road, in Bexleyheath, has been shortlisted for a National Housing Award in the ‘Best Small Development’ category.
The development, George Albert Court, is a smart three-storey block of 25 apartments in Bexleyheath, Kent, providing a well-balanced mix of one, two and three bedroom homes, with seven for affordable rent and 18 for shared ownership.
Hexagon worked closely with our Local Authority partners to develop these homes with all rents being within the Local Housing Allowance limits. On the shared ownership side, 16 of the 18 apartments have been sold to local people. The remaining two shared ownership apartments were sold to buyers with work and/or family connections in the borough.
The development has several efficiency/sustainability features including PV Panels, low-flow taps and showers, charging points for electric cars, and secure storage for 47 bicycles.
The National Housing Awards, run by the National Housing Federation, celebrate excellence in home ownership and the winners of each category will be revealed at a ceremony on 5th September 2019 at the JW Marriott Grosvenor House, London.
