Resident Influence Group – October Meeting Update

The Resident Influence Group (RIG) is a resident-led group that reviews Hexagon’s services, considers feedback from other resident groups and makes recommendations to improve the resident experience, strengthen accountability and help shape future services.

RIG’s most recent meeting was 20 October 2026 to review progress on existing recommendations, inform service developments and look at ways to strengthen resident involvement across Hexagon.

Members welcomed a new report on the outcomes and impact of RIG, recognising the difference the group is making and the positive engagement from staff. Going forward, impact updates will be shared twice a year. Specifically, at this meeting five previous recommendations were evidenced as delivered

Several recommendations were made by RIG. These included ensuring all residents can participate in consultations on the Staff Code of Conduct and Performance Management Framework, with shorter surveys and accessible alternative formats. Members also supported the proposed approach to communicating new Social Tenant Access to Information Requirements (STAIRS), highlighting the importance of reaching residents who are less digitally connected and engaging managing agents.

The quality of the Estate Grading Report was praised, with bin storage and fly-tipping identified as important issues for future consideration. The Hearing the Customer Voice report was also welcomed, with suggestions to make it available online and use its findings to inform resident scrutiny. Finally, discussions explored new ways to reach more residents through digital networks, noticeboards, webinars and targeted engagement.

Both new and existing recommendations will continue to be progressed and monitored. The next RIG meeting will be held in early 2027 (date tbc).
