Summary
Our Property Improvement policy is new and set out how Hexagon will plan our improvement programmes in your home. How we will deliver and communicate improvement works such as roofs, kitchens, heating, windows and bathrooms. The Resident Alterations policy is being updated. It explains what changes you can make in your home and what permission you would need from Hexagon. Together the policies help us make sure your homes are safe, invested in and fit for the future.
Hexagon carry out a wide range of improvements such as boiler installations, kitchen, windows, bathrooms & door replacements and electrical upgrades. Resident alterations and permission vary depending on what residents want to do. Decoration does not need permission for example but major works do. The policy sets this out.
Decarbonisation is about reducing pollutants into the environment. Stock condition surveys help us to assess your home and identify any works which are needed so that we can plan future works. We really need residents to give our contractors access for surveys so that we can plan works and ensure your home is kept well maintained. The surveys do not take long. Through planning future works we can let residents know when their works are due such as replacement kitchens and bathrooms.
We have a new communication plan process. We will contact residents by phone, email and/or text based on their communication preference, We will let residents know about planned surveys and works to their homes and explain what the survey will involve. We are trying to combine surveys and inspections appointments together to cause the least disruption. Residents will be sent appointment times and our contractors may also phone residents to confirm. Residents can ask for an alternative appointment, or contact us if they have any questions.

We’re sharing these at an early stage if you would like to input and they will go through a number of rounds of checks and approvals. So please don’t worry about small typos, what we really want to hear is what will make a difference to you as a resident.
