A topping out ceremony took place on Monday, 18 May at our development site at 634–636 Old Kent Road, Southwark, marking a significant milestone in the construction programme.
The development will deliver 46 new-build apartments, comprising a mix of shared ownership and affordable rented homes, alongside new commercial space. The scheme forms part of our continued commitment to delivering high-quality, affordable housing across Southwark and particularly as part of the extensive regeneration of the Old Kent Road area.
Representatives from the project team, and contractors, Guildmore, attended the ceremony to celebrate the progress made to date and recognise the collaborative work that has brought the development to this stage.
Interim Development & Sales Director, Jennifer Currier, said:
“Reaching topping out is an important milestone for everyone involved in the project and reflects the hard work and commitment shown by our teams and partners throughout the build process. We are proud to be delivering 46 much-needed affordable homes at Old Kent Road, helping to create a thriving and sustainable community for local people.”
Construction continues on site, with the development set to provide modern, energy-efficient homes and valuable commercial space in a key regeneration area of Southwark by summer 2027.
