Community Investment Department’s work, we have been focusing on Digital Inclusion as part of the offer to residents. We acknowledge that often times residents that are digitally excluded, are often excluded in other areas of their lives such as financially and often socially- as much of today’s social interactions happen online.
Our Digital Champions programme looks to work with resident’s one on one and in small groups to ensure that they have the knowledge and the confidence to do the things that they need to online and on a computer, for example job seeking, using spread sheets and even finding the best prices for things from mobile contracts to fridges.
Our Digital Champions also work with residents that have never used a computer before, giving them to the confidence to explore all that digital life has to offer.
We have six Digital Champion currently on-board working with us to deliver this programme and they are all residents which is something that we are really proud of as an organisation.
