  • RSH Consultation on revised Consumer Standards – Have Your Say

The Regulator of Social Housing (RSH) is inviting residents to have your say on the revised Consumer Standards and the Draft Code of Practice.

The consultation ended on the 17th October 2023.

The RSH has been given a stronger consumer regulation role by the new Social Housing (Regulation) Act 2023 and want your views and to make adjustments before finalising the Standards. Alongside the additional powers, the RSH will have the tools needed to fulfil this new role in regulating Housing Associations.

Give your views on four proposed consumer standards. Following the consultation, these standards will set the requirements registered providers will be expected to meet from April 2024, replacing the consumer standards that are currently in place.

As part of this consultation, RSH are also seeking views on a draft Code of Practice to amplify the proposed consumer standards and assist registered providers in understanding how they might achieve compliance.

This is your chance to give your views.  The full details of the consultation can be found on the Government website: https://www.gov.uk/government/consultations/consultation-on-the-consumer-standards.

A summary of the consultation document is also available at the above link, as well as an accessible ‘Easy Read’ summary.

If you have any questions about the consultation, please email our Referrals and Regulatory Enquiries team: enquiries@rsh.gov.uk.

RSH’s privacy notice can be accessed here: https://www.gov.uk/guidance/regulator-of-social-housing-privacy-notice.

The RSH are keen to hear from you.
