We recognise that a range of factors such as Covid and the Cost of Living has impacted the mental health of many people.

This page contains information on mental health support services available.

Talking Therapies are confidential treatments delivered by fully trained and accredited NHS practitioners. They can help if you’re struggling with depression, excessive worry, social anxiety etc.

You can access this service for free on the NHS by referring yourself directly to an NHS talking therapies service or a GP can refer you.

Mind aims to empower people to understand their mental health and the choices available to them through:

  • their Infoline offers confidential help for the price of a local call
  • their Legal Line offers information on mental health law

Samaritans Whatever you’re going through, you can call  any time, from any phone for FREE on 116 123.

Woman’s Trust provides support to women that are experiencing or have previously experienced domestic abuse. This includes, access to workshops, support groups and a programme of up to 18 free, weekly counselling sessions, with the same counsellor to explore your feelings in a safe, confidential and non-judgemental environment.

For Her is an online platform created to help young women between the ages of 16 and 29 get access to free emotional support resources in the London area.

AndysManClub are a men’s suicide prevention charity, offering free-to-attend peer-to-peer support groups across the United Kingdom and online.

Shout provides information on a range of mental health support for help men who are finding things difficult. If you’d like a free, confidential and anonymous conversation about how you’re feeling, you can also text SHOUT to 85258 to speak to a trained volunteer today.

Other support

Social Prescribing connects people to activities, groups, and services in their community to meet the practical, social and emotional needs that affect their health and well-being.

People can self refer or be referred to a social prescribing link worker, who will support them to take control of your health and well-being.

Each borough has their own Social Prescribing Service e.g. Community Connections Lewisham

Together For Mental WellBeing are providing Well Being Hubs in several local authorities for example Southwark and Lewisham, Residents can access a range of mental health support such well-being workshops and access to advice drop ins. Some hubs also have specialist Mental Wellbeing Advisors, who work with people from Black and ethnic minority groups, and migrants and refugees, delivering culturally sensitive and personalised, expert support.
